Youth Ministries
Children & Families Ministry
The Children and Families Ministry at Cathedral of Hope serves our infants through fourth grade with a safe and fun environment staffed by experienced workers and facilitated by our Children & Families Minister, Dan Peeler. As a member of the Center for Progressive Christianity, the Cathedral of Hope teaches God's inclusive love for all persons. Click on the link above for more details, or email Mr. Dan Peeler.
Teen & Pre-Teen Ministry
Our teen & pre-teen youth group meets every Sunday at 11am in CLC 107. We also host and/or sponsor many other age appropriate activities throughout the year. Please click on the link above for more details. You can also email Todd Scoggins, Minister for Congregational Life, or call him at the church office at 214-351-1901, for more information about our pre-teen/teen youth ministry programs.
Bi-Lingual / Spanish-Speaking Youth (Spanish-English)
Our teen & pre-teen bilingual youth group meets every Sunday at 1pm in the lower level of the Interfaith Peace Chapel. Our bilingual youth minister, Yadi Martinez, facilitates games, discussion, and fellowship during the Congregacion Latina worship service in the Interfaith Peace Chapel. This youth group is designed for bilingual and Spanish-speaking youth, however ALL youth are welcome to attend. Email Rev. Alejandro De La Torre, Associate Pastor for La Congregacion Latina, or call him at 214-351-1901, for more information about our bilingual and Spanish-speaking youth ministry programs.
Youth With Special Needs
If your child is unique and requires particular needs, simply let us know what they are and we will work to accommodate you. It is important to us that every one of God's children is given the opportunity to grow in the Spirit and to share in the blessings of community with others, particularly those with special needs. Your child has so much to teach us. Email Todd Scoggins, Minister for Congregational Life, for more information about our special needs programs for youth.
North Dallas Youth & Families
Our North Dallas Youth & Family Ministry program is growing, facilitated by a circle of North Dallas CoH parents and families. Meeting times are arranged per diem. If you are looking for a social outlet for you or your child that is a little closer to your home in the northern Dallas area, contact Todd Scoggins, Minister for Congregational Life.
Youth Service Projects
Throughout the year we offer opportunities for youth to experience community service first-hand, including every "5th Saturday" (four times annually) when our youth serve breakfast to 200-300 hungry and homeless here at Cathedral of Hope. Do it to fulfill required service hours; do it for the positive experience; do it for the love of serving others; do it to honor God! Click on the link above or contact Todd Scoggins, Minister for Congregational Life, for more information.
Youth Social Justice / Activism
If you would like to get involved in helping to make political changes to our community and culture, click on the link above or contact Todd Scoggins, Minister for Congregational Life to get started. Currently we're fighting the cause for evidence-based sex education in Texas public schools, rather than the failed "abstinence only" policy, which neither educates nor empowers our youth to make sound decisions on their own.
Teen Confirmation Process / Spiritual Formation
Maybe it's time for you to take the next step in your Spiritual journey. We are excited to help guide you in that process. Whatever your background, we'll work with you one-on-one to help you enter into a more faith-filled God-conscious life. We believe there are many paths up the mountain of truth and that all beings come from and return to the same Infinite Source--called God, Allah, Brahma, or simply "Energy". What you call it is beside the point--what is important is that you are awakened to the profound mystery of the Creation in which you take part. In the radical tradition of Jesus Christ we want to help you think in new ways about who and what you are, about where you come from, about where you are going, and about what you can do with the life given you. Click on the link above or contact Todd Scoggins, Minister for Congregational Life for more information about our teen confirmation process.
Summer Camp!
